Born into the fifth generation of a Moscow family of designers, Anna grew up immersed in the arts. She studied at the Surikov Art Lyceum, later at an architectural college, then at a leading Russian academy, with an integrated curriculum across design, painting, life drawing, sculpture, and philosophy. Anna belongs to a generation that embraces modern technologies while maintaining profound respect for artistic heritage. Her paintings blend observation with poetic, metaphysical dimensions, revealing invisible facets. Engaged with many cultures, she seeks to act as an ambassador, celebrating the noblest qualities of each culture and weaving these virtues into a shared vision.

Statement

Anna Petrova creates large-scale oil paintings, taking inspiration from the heritage of different traditions. At present, she is more focused on the culture of the East, visually adapting it for a Western viewer. This comes naturally to her because she grew up in a European cultural environment, where her artistic taste was shaped by the ideals of the Greco-Roman tradition. At the same time, since her teenage years, she has looked to Eastern philosophy for answers to the questions that mattered most to her.
